Tiffin University pulled out a win on the road at Ashland, nipping the Eagles 2-1 in double overtime.
Tiffin dominated play throughout but barely walked away with the win. The Dragons outshot Ashland 35-4 and got on the board in the 26th minute when Lauren Turkington nailed a free kick into the upper left 90 from 23 yards out for the 1-0 lead.
Ashland answered in the 31st minute after a free kick from 30 yards out was touched in from five yards out to knot the score 1-1 heading into halftime.
Despite a huge shot advantage, the Dragons could not get a finishing goal in regulation or the first overtime period. Tiffin finally got the gamewinner when Shelly Rogers recovered a blocked shot, carried it into the box and blasted home a shot from 8 yards out.
Tiffin, which also held a 13-2 edge in corner kicks, got the win in goal from Denise Resende. She made 2 saves and allowed one goal in 104 minutes.
