ROCHESTER, N.Y. – With 1:26 remaining, freshman goalkeeper Gianna Parmentier could not corral one last shot attempt which led to the Dragons suffering their first loss of the season on Friday, 1-0, to Roberts Wesleyan.
The Redhawks converted a two-on-two breakaway and Parmentier got her hands on the shot attempt, but the ball trickled loose and crossed over the line into the net to give Roberts Wesleyan the win.
Prior to the goal, the game looked destined to end 0-0 as both defenses limited the opposing team's offensive chances. The Redhawks sent seven shots on goal in the second half prior to scoring, and Parmentier was up to the task each time to record the save.
Tiffin had limited scoring chances and recorded six shots in the game compared to the Redhawks' 19. Mikayla Tolbert recorded a shot on goal in the first half and Maddie Davis recorded one in the second half and both were saved by the RWU goalkeeper.
The first half featured very limited offensive action as the teams combined for eight shot attempts.
Parmentier went the distance in goal and recorded nine saves.
