NORTH CANTON, Ohio – After a chaotic offensive second half in which Tiffin and Walsh combined for seven goals, the Dragons dropped a heartbreaker as the Cavaliers scored the game-winning goal with 21 seconds remaining for a 4-3 win on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, Tiffin falls to 3-4-1 overall and 1-3 in the G-MAC.
Scoreless for the first 60 minutes, Walsh struck first to make it 1-0 Cavaliers in the 61st minute, but the Dragons wasted no time to tie it as Daphine Nalubowa dished it to Mackenzie Borden 44 seconds later.
The Cavaliers regained the lead, scoring twice in 2:44 to take a 3-1 lead with just over seven minutes remaining, but the Dragons never quit as Callie Cacchione scored twice to make it 3-3 with 1:12 remaining. Nalubowa assisted Cacchione on TU's second goal of the game in the 86th minute.
Despite riding the momentum of tying the game, the Cavaliers broke through with 21 seconds left for the game-winner to stun the Dragons.
Gianna Parmentier went the distance in goal and took the tough loss while recording eight saves.
The Dragons return to Paradiso on Thursday, September 24 for a game against rival Findlay at 3 p.m.
