TIFFIN, Ohio – Tiffin University (1-0-1) and Davis & Elkins battled to a 1-1 draw on a hot Saturday afternoon at the Paradiso Athletic Complex.
The Dragons, fresh off a five-goal performance on Thursday, needed just 96 seconds to start the scoring in this one. Off a corner kick, Sam McPhee found Taylor Iden who headed the ball into the upper left corner to put TU on top 1-0.
With under two minutes left in the first half, an unfortunate bounce led to the Senators' only goal of the game. Tiffin failed to clear the ball outside of their defensive box, and the ball deflected off a TU defender's chest and landed at the feet of DEC's Meghan Andersen who left footed it just past the outstretched arms of goalkeeper Gianna Parmentier to tie the game at one.
The second half was a defensive stalemate, and the Dragons' defense stood strong as the Senators put the offensive pressure on in the first 20 minutes. Tiffin's best scoring chance came in the 70th minute when Willow Toft rifled a shot five feet outside the box, but the Senators' goalkeeper made a jumping save to deny Toft and the Dragons could not capitalize on the ensuing corner kick.
The remaining 20 minutes saw just three combined shot attempts with two coming from Davis & Elkins.
Gianna Parmentier played all 90 minutes in goal and made five saves.
Tiffin held the advantage in both shots (12-10) and shots on goal (7-6), but the Senators generated eight more corner kicks (11-3).
The Dragons hit the road for the first time in 2026 for their next game. TU travels to New York for a 4 p.m. contest against Roberts Wesleyan on Friday, Sept. 4.
