Dragons drop first conference game at Ashland 20-6

Tiffin University women's lacrosse (6-5, 3-1 G-MAC) suffered their first conference loss of the year, falling 20-6 at Ashland on Thursday afternoon.  

Lauren Walsh found Lillian Graham which tied the game at one less than five minutes in. After Graham tied it, the Eagles took control scoring four in a row and overall scored 14 of the next 15 to take a 15-2 lead with 11 minutes remaining in the third quarter. 

Ashland outscored Tiffin 8-0 in the second quarter and led 14-2 at halftime. The second half was much more competitive, with the Eagles outscoring the Dragons 6-4. 

Walsh and Graham led the offense scoring two goals each while Guinevere Salas was credited with one assist. Aryanna Rykard and Dana Shehadeh scored one goal each. 

Rykard also had three ground balls and three caused turnovers. 

Sarah Hart got the start in goal and took the loss, recording five saves while allowing nine goals in 18:10 minutes of action. Sam Wermuth played the final 41:50 and allowed 11 goals while making three saves. 

Ashland held a 39-14 advantage in shots and Tiffin won just six of the 28 draw controls.
