Dragons finish regular season with 20-9 win on Senior Day

The Tiffin University women's lacrosse team (9-6, 6-2 G-MAC) closed out the regular season at home Saturday morning with a commanding 20-9 win over Northwood on Senior Day. 

Prior to the game, seniors Jessa Zaheri, Katelyn Jarvis, and Lillian Graham were recognized. 

TU never trailed in the game and exploded for eight goals in the opening period to take an 8-3 lead after one. Dana Shehadeh scored 40 seconds in for the first goal of the game as the Dragons took advantage for a woman up goal. Northwood got cut the deficit in half with 10:14 left in the first but the Dragons kept the offensive pressure going by scoring the next three to take a 5-1 lead and Tiffin would continue to add on to their throughout the game. 

Tiffin outscored the Timberwolves in each quarter and led 14-5 at halftime. In the second half, TU outscored Northwood 6-4 by the score of 3-2 in both the third and fourth quarters. 

Shehadeh scored a team-high five goals and added two assists for seven total points. Lauren Walsh matched her career-high 10 points with four goals and six assists. Jarvis also scored four goals. 

Aryanna Rykard and Isabelle Vranjes each tallied three goals while Guinevere Salas scored one and recorded two assists. Zaheri recorded a team-high six ground balls, and Brookelynne Brewer led the way with three caused turnovers. Kenna Wigginton and Vranjes each recorded an assist.  

The Dragons recorded 22 more shot attempts than Northwood (46-24) and also won the ground ball battle 28-22. Tiffin dominated on draw controls, winning 21 of 31.  

Paige Waldrup got the win in goal, recording 10 saves over 60 minutes. 

Up next for the Dragons is a G-MAC Tournament quarterfinal game at home next Saturday, April 25. Opponent and time are to be determined.
