Tiffin University (6-6) could not get the offense going in two tough Florida losses, losing to Embry-Riddle 4-2 and Rollins 4-1.
In game one,
Lexi Key took the loss, tossing 4.2 innings and allowing 4 earned runs on 6 hits and 5 walks.
Ella Esterby also pitched 1.1 innings of scoreless relief.
Tiffin got both of its runs in the first inning.
McKenna Scott and
Jessica Miller both singled with Scott moving to third on the throw.
Reagan Mengerink then brought her home with a sacrifice fly. After
Tori McPherson was hit by a pitch, Miller came home when McPherson was caught stealing.
Tiffin had numerous runners in scoring position over the remainder of the game but could not come up with a clutch hit to bring them home.
Scott and Esterby both had 2 hits at the plate but the Dragons had no extra base hits.
In game two, Esterby took the loss over 7 innings. She allowed 10 hits and 4 earned runs.
Tiffin got a run in the fourth inning.
Tara Gall reached on an error and pinch runner
Caylin Stevens came around after a single by Esterby and a throwing error at second base.
Mengerink had 2 hits for Tiffin, which had 6 singles in the game.
