Tiffin University women's lacrosse (6-4, 3-0 G-MAC) maintained their perfect G-MAC record with a 20-11 win over Thomas More on Saturday afternoon at the Paradiso Athletic Complex.
Today's contest marked the third game in a row that the Dragons scored at least 20 goals.
Tiffin never trailed in the game. Tied 1-1, TU scored three straight and never looked back. Isabelle Vranjes scored two and Lauren Walsh added one to make it 4-1. The Dragons outscored the Saints 3-2 in the second quarter and doubled up TMU for an 8-4 halftime lead.
The Dragons pulled away early in the third quarter, scoring five goals in less than five minutes to make it 13-4. In total, TU erupted for eight third-quarter goals and outscored the Saints 12-7 in the second half.
Vranjes led the way offensively with six goals while Lillian Graham and Walsh each scored five. Walsh also recorded five assists for 10 total points in the game. Dana Shehaded finished with two goals and three assists.
Kenna Wigginton and Katelyn Jarvis had one goal each while Wigginton and Guinevere Salas also recorded one assist.
Wigginton and Aryanna Rykard led the team in ground balls with each getting six. Wigginton and Sarah Grover led the way defensively with three caused turnovers each.
Sarah Hart got the win in goal, making seven saves in 60 minutes. Graham was credited with 18 draw controls, which is the third most in a game in program history.
Tiffin outshot Thomas More 40-24 and held a 27-15 advantage in shots on goal. The Dragons also won the ground ball battle 32-24, won 19 of 33 draw controls, and had 16 caused turnovers.
