The Tiffin University men's basketball team (6-16, 2-13 G-MAC) couldn't quite keep up with Findlay in a high-scoring affair on Saturday, falling 96-76.
D'monyae Davis poured in a career-high 35 points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals, but it wasn't enough. Davis was 12 of 15 from the field and made six of eight from downtown.
The Oilers won the tipoff and scored on the opening possession, which set the tone as the Dragons had to play from behind all game. Findlay jumped out to a 20-6 lead in the first eight minutes.
An 8-0 Tiffin run late in the first half cut the deficit from 18 to eight, but Findlay extended the lead back to double digits and led at the break 46-33.
The Dragons were unable to get the deficit under 13 in the second half and Findlay led by as many as 30.
Joining Davis in double figures were Noah Smith, TJ Pangonas, and Michael Lucarotti. Smith finished with 13 points and Lucarotti and Pangonas finished with 11 and 10, respectively.
Both teams finished above 50 percent from the floor, and the Oilers made nine more field goals than the Dragons.
Findlay scored 32 points off 22 Tiffin turnovers.
