The Tiffin University men's basketball team (6-15, 2-12 G-MAC) could not overcome a double-digit halftime deficit and fell to Hillsdale Thursday night 67-59.
Tiffin is now 0-8 in road games so far this season.
With Hillsdale's win tonight, the two teams split the season series with both winning on their home floor.
Both teams scored on their opening possessions and a three by D'monyae Davis gave TU a 3-2 lead a minute in. 36 second later, Hillsdale retook the lead and the Dragons played from behind the rest of the game.
An 8-0 run gave Hillsdale a 25-12 lead with 5:30 left in the half and the Dragons closed the half on a mini 4-0 run to cut the deficit to 11, 33-22, going into the break.
The Dragons could not make a dent in the deficit and Hillsdale led by a game high 17 with 11:46 left. Aside from early in the second half, TU could not get the deficit under double digits again until there was under a minute left. Tiffin trailed by eight with 29 seconds left and was still in it as Hillsdale missed two free throws, but Noah Smith missed two three-pointers and the Chargers grabbed the defensive rebound to end it.
Davis led the way offensively pouring in 20 points. Jonah Nesmith finished with 19 points and nine rebounds. Demar Burton had six points and eight rebounds.
Both teams shot above 40 percent in the contest and Hillsdale had a +12 advantage on made threes.
The Dragons outrebounded the Chargers 37-31.
