The Tiffin University women's lacrosse team (2-2) never trailed on Wednesday afternoon, defeating the Fighting Scots of Edinboro (PA) University 17-11 at the Paradiso Athletic Complex.
The game was originally scheduled to be played in Pennsylvania, but because of the recent blizzard, the Fighting Scots made the trip to Tiffin.
The game also marked a historic moment for Lauren Walsh as the junior hit 100 career points. Walsh notched one goal and six assists in today's game and accounted for all of TU's assists.
The Dragons struck first with two goals by Kenna Wigginton and one by Isabelle Vranjes to make it 3-0 five minutes in. It took the Fighting Scots only two and a half minutes to tie it up at three until Walsh gave the lead back to the Dragons for good just 26 seconds later.
A dominant and strong defensive second quarter by the Dragons propelled Tiffin to an 11-5 halftime lead after holding the Fighting Scots to one goal in the quarter.
Both teams scored six goals in the second half.
Vranjes led the offensive output with six goals, and Wigginton scored five. Lillian Graham and Dana Shehadeh each scored two while Walsh and Aryanna Rykard had one apiece.
