The Tiffin University men's basketball team (6-19, 2-16 G-MAC) ended the home portion of their schedule on Saturday with an 84-67 loss to Thomas More.
Prior to the game, the Dragons recognized six seniors – Jonah Nesmith, Caleb Bates, Jacob Pleiman, KJ Pruitt, D'monyae Davis, and Ethan Damerum.
Trailing by two with six minutes left in the first half, buckets by Pleiman, Bates, and Nesmith fueled a 7-0 TU run which put the Dragons on top 31-26 with 5:07 remaining in the opening period.
Despite the run and seizing momentum, the Dragons were outscored 11-3 during the final five minutes and trailed 37-34 at halftime. Thomas More took the lead back with 2:54 on the first half clock and led the rest of the way.
The Dragons could not erase the deficit in the second half and Thomas More, behind strong shooting, extended their lead to 22 in the second half.
The Saints dominated in the paint, scoring 50 points and outscored the Dragons 47-33 in the second half.
Davis and Bates led the way offensively with 21 and 18, respectively. Pruitt had six points and grabbed seven rebounds while Damerum also corralled seven rebounds.
