TIFFIN, Ohio – In a highly anticipated conference showdown, the Tiffin University men's soccer team (7-2-6, 6-1-4 G-MAC) played Thomas More (9-3-3, 7-1-3) to a scoreless draw.
Tiffin once again generated early scoring chances but were unable to convert. In the first 17 minutes, the Dragons recorded three shots on goal and seven total shots while earning one corner kick. In the 33rd minute, Tiffin scored a goal but it was wiped off the board.
TU nearly put two on the board in the second half on two great chances but came up empty. In the 66th minute, Josh Manu had a wide-open chance in front of the net and his shot missed high. In the 76th minute, Bailey Winchurch's free kick attempt missed wide right.
In goal, Nick Cherry went the distance and made three saves while Sam Brittain led the offense with six shots and three on goal.
Tiffin held the advantage in all offensive categories, outshooting the Saints 19-8 with an 8-3 advantage in shots on goal. TU also edged TMU in corner kicks, 8-6.
The Dragons host Cedarville on Thursday, October 22 at 2:30 p.m. for their final regular season home game. This will also be Senior Day, with seniors being recognized prior to the start of the game.
