No. 25 Dragons Fall 2-0 at Cedarville

CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The 25th-ranked Tiffin University men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision on Saturday at Cedarville in a huge conference showdown.

Tiffin suffers their second loss of the season and drops to 6-2-5 overall and 5-1-3 in the G-MAC. Saturday also marked the third time that the Tiffin offense has been held scoreless this season.

The Dragons recorded four corner kicks in the first half but couldn't capitalize while the Yellow Jackets jumped out to an early 1-0 lead after scoring in the 27th minute. Tiffin only generated two shot attempts with neither landing on goal in the first half and trailed 1-0 at the half.

TU struggled to get scoring chances in the second half too but generated a couple of opportunities late. In the final five minutes attempting to tie the game at one, Noah Purtz, Sam Brittain, and Garbhan Feeney all recorded shot attempts off target. Cedarville added a second goal in the 89th minute to seal the game.

Nick Cherry took the loss in goal and recorded one save.

Cedarville outshot the Dragons 10-7 and recorded three shots on goal to Tiffin's zero. TU doubled the Yellow Jackets in corner kicks, 6-3, but had nothing to show for it.

It was a very physical contest with 39 combined fouls and eight yellow cards given.

The Dragons finish their three-game road trip at Ohio Dominican on Thursday night (Oct. 15) at 7 p.m.
