Tiffin University (8-8, 3-6 G-MAC) could not overcome an 18-point edge held by Ashland at the free throw line, falling 73-63.
Ashland outpointed Tiffin 28-10 at the line, connecting on a blistering 28 of 29 free throws.Â
The two teams matched each other throughout the game, with
Megan Campbell tallying 17 of her 22 points in the first half as the Dragons trailed just 36-33 at halftime.
Ashland put together a late run in the third quarter to post a 17-10 advantage and a 10-point lead heading into the fourth quarter. Tiffin pulled to within three points at a couple points in the final quarter but could not put together a scoring run to overtake the Eagles.
Overall Tiffin shot 36 percent in the game and were outrebounded 43-31.
After Campbell's 22 points and 5 rebounds,
Isabelle Niederst was the only other TU player in double figures with 13 points.
Serenitee Johnson had 9 points with 6 rebounds while
Hailey Unger had 8 points and
Myka Richardson 7.
