The Tiffin University women's soccer team (1-4-1, 0-3-0 G-MAC) returned home on Thursday afternoon for just the second time this season and dropped a 2-0 decision to Walsh.
Today's result is the fourth game in a row that the Dragons have suffered a shutout loss.
The Dragons battled hard in the first half which saw the first 45 minutes resulting in no goals. The Dragons sent three shots in the first seven minutes, two by Amanda Feury and one by Mikaela Bevelander but all three were off target. Tiffin goalkeeper Aubree Lee made six saves in the opening half to keep the Cavaliers off the board.
Walsh turned up the offensive pressure in the second half and scored twice. A questionable foul call inside the box on Mackenzie Borden resulted in a penalty kick successful goal that gave the Cavaliers a 1-0 lead in the 57th minute. Walsh added a second goal in the 89th minute.
Overall, Walsh outshot Tiffin 23-10 and sent 14 shots on goal while the Dragons only recorded one on goal. Walsh also had a 6-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Addyson Jacquemain had the only shot on goal for the Dragons. Aubree Lee played all 90 minutes in goal and took the loss making 12 saves. Megan Schonberger was the only other Dragon to play all 90 minutes.
