The Tiffin University women's soccer team (1-3-1, 0-2-0 G-MAC) dropped a tough 1-0 decision on the road at Malone on Saturday afternoon.
It was a frustrating day on the pitch for the Dragons. Tiffin held a 16-10 shot advantage and despite the defense allowing just one shot on goal, that one shot on goal resulted in the only goal of the game by Malone's Brynn Mowrer in the 51st minute.
The first half was a defensive stalemate with both teams recording four shot attempts. Neither team recorded a shot on goal in the first 45 minutes.
After Malone scored in the 51st minute, the Dragons had multiple scoring chances but couldn't break through.
Tia Nagle and Taylor Iden sent shots on goal in a three-minute span and were saved by Malone's goalkeeper. Iden's shot attempt came in the 62nd minute and after that, it was all about the defenses again.
The Dragons did manage to put the pressure on offensively again late. Maddie Davis and Leia Rienerth both recorded shots on goal in the final nine minutes and again Malone's goalkeeper denied them. The Dragons sent two more shots in the final 52 seconds, but both landed off target.
Aubree Lee started at goalkeeper for the first time this season and took the loss playing all 90 minutes.
