Four Tiffin University softball players were named to the NFCA All Midwest Region team.
Jessica Miller,
Reagan Mengerink, and
Ella Esterby were named First Team picks, while
Tori McPherson landed honors on the Second Team.
Jessica Miller continued garnering honors after her strong debut season. She already earned a unique double honor as the freshman was named both Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year in the G-MAC.
Miller helped lead the team to the 2nd-seed in the NCAA Midwest Regional, the G-MAC regular season title, and a ranking of 17th nationally. She led the G-MAC in doubles, on-base percentage, slugging, and total bases while setting a new TU record with 23 doubles. She also ranks 1st in the nation in doubles and is 16th in runs. She hit .417 overall with 8 home runs and 49 RBI.
Mengerink led the conference in hits and was also tops in throwing base stealers out and also toughest to strike out. Nationally she is 4th in toughest to strike out and ranks 25th hits. She hit .410Â with 2 home runs and 45 RBI. She was a First Team All G-MAC pick.
Esterby went 17-7 with a 1.49 ERA to lead TU in pitching wins. She ranks 15th nationally in shutouts with 6 and leads a pitching staff that leads the G-MAC in ERA, shutouts, and team strikeouts per 7 innings. She was also a First Team All G-MAC selection.
McPherson had a breakthrough year, batting .338 with 27 RBI along with 8 doubles, 2 triples, and a home run. She landed Second Team All G-MAC honors.
