Dragons win G-MAC regular season crown with sweep of Malone

Tiffin University (39-11, 21-3 G-MAC) wrapped up its first-ever G-MAC regular season title, sweeping Malone 9-1 and 6-2 in 9 innings.

The win gives the Dragons (ranked 2nd in the Midwest Region) 39 victories, equaling the school's NCAA Division II record for wins in a season.

After Tori Abel and Reagan Mengerink singled, Jessica Miller drilled a three-run home run to put TU ahead 3-1. With two outs, Maci Head walked and came home on Tori McPherson's double. She then scored when Aubrie Harper singled to make it 5-1.

Tiffin put the game away in the seventh with four more runs. Baylee Mirgon singled and Head then doubled to put two runners on. Harper then singled through the right side for a run, while Molly Koesters followed with another RBI single. With two outs, Abel singled for another run, and an error at shortstop allowed the final run to score.

Ella Esterby improved to 15-6 with 7 innings of work, allowing 6 hits and one earned run.

In game two, Tiffin took a 1-0 lead in the second inning when Mirgon blasted a home run to left center.
