Tiffin University (2-9, 1-7 G-MAC) fell behind early but rallied late, coming up just short 6-3.
Lake Erie opened by scoring the first three goals and kept TU off the board until 5:22 in the second quarter when
Matthew Nunnaro scored an unassisted goal to make it 3-1.
The Storm tacked on another goal before halftime to lead 4-1 at the break.Â
The Storm held a 23-11 shot edge at halftime, taking advantage of 13 TU turnovers.
Leading 5-1 as the fourth quarter started, the Dragons mounted a rally.
Kyle Geller scored a goal off a pass from Nunnaro to make it 5-2 at the 14:40 mark, and then
Leyton Roetting took a dish from Geller at the 13:58 mark to cut the deficit to 5-3.
Tiffin kept up the attack, with a shot by
Jack Howard hitting the post and another shot by
Cole Back forcing a save.Â
After Lake Erie added a goal to make it 6-3, the Dragons fired off four more shots over the remainder of the game but could not put a shot on goal.
Overall the Storm outshot TU 43-25 while holding a huge 23-9 edge in turnovers. They also won the ground ball battle 28-22.
Dawson Baker took the loss in goal, making 12 saves and leading the team with 7 ground balls.
