Tiffin University (30-10, 14-2 G-MAC) scored 3 runs in the fifth inning in its opener with Ohio Dominican, leading to a 3-0 victory. Game two went to the Panthers 12-1 in five innings.

With one out and the bases loaded in the fifth, Baylee Mirgon singled to drive in a run and two more runs came around to score on a throwing error by the pitcher.

Isabella O'Brien got the win in relief, tossing three innings of one-hit ball with 4 strikeouts. Lexi Key started the game and went 4 innings, allowing 3 hits.

Tiffin had 9 hits in the game with Molly Koesters getting a double.

In the nightcap, four errors hurt the Dragons early as Tiffin fell behind 5-1 heading to the bottom of the fourth inning. The Dragons tried to rally as Koesters and Lydia Kobie singled and Tori Abel had a bunt single to load the bases with no outs. But a lineout from Reagan Mengerink to left field turned into a triple play as the left fielder threw out the runner coming home and the catcher then threw out the runner trying to advance to second.

The play fired up the Panthers, who responded in the top of the fifth by scoring 7 runs to put the game out of reach.

Ella Esterby took the loss, pitching 3 innings and allowing 5 hits and one earned run with 4 strikeouts. In all, five Dragons pitchers allowed 12 runs (9 earned) in the tough loss.
