Tiffin University (2-8, 1-6 G-MAC) faced an uphill battle against 4th-ranked Seton Hill but battled hard before falling 17-6.
The Griffins came out of the gate firing, outshooting TU 24-2 in the opening period and amassing a 9-1 lead.
Aiden Criteser scored an unassisted goal with 1:12 left in the period for Tiffin's lone goal.
Tiffin's defense stepped up in the second period, as the Griffins only outscored TU 2-1 in the period to head to the halftime break with an 11-2 lead.
Matthew Nunnaro scored Tiffin's lone goal of the period early at the 14:24 mark to cut the score to 9-2.
Seton Hill continued to control the tempo in the second half, outshooting TU 30-17 overall while forcing 24 TU turnovers.Â
Tiffin got another goal from
Connor Gucwa off a pass from
Alex Brown in the third period. Tiffin's other two goals came in the final period, as
Leyton Roetting took a pass from
Kyle Geller and scored, and Criteser added another goal off a pass from Brown.
Overall Seton Hill outshot TU 61-22, won the ground ball battle 44-27, and won the faceoffs 21-6.
Dawson Baker played well in goal, making 17 saves over 52 minutes, while
Tyler Nutting also made 6 saves in 6 minutes.
Gucwa led the way with 6 ground balls along with 3 caused turnovers.
Brady Sortor also had 4 ground balls.
