Tiffin University (22-8, 6-0 G-MAC) ran its winning streak to 11 games, sweeping Northwood on the road 9-0 and 7-2.
Tiffin once again got strong pitching in both games.
Ella Esterby improved to 9-3 with 7 innings of 4-hit work, fanning 5 in the opener.
Isabella O'Brien got the win in game two, improving to 7-0 with 7 innings of work. She allowed 7 hits and 2 earned runs while striking out 6.
Tiffin opened scoring in the second inning of game one. After
Baylee Mirgon singled and
Aubrie Harper doubled to lead off the inning,
Tori McPherson singled to drive in both runners.
TU added three more runs in the third. With two runners on,
Jessica Miller drilled a three-run home run to right field to put TU ahead 5-0.
Tiffin put the game away with four runs in the seventh. With two outs,
Reagan Mengerink walked. Miller followed with a double, and both runners came home on
Maci Head's single. Mirgon followed with another double for another RBI, and Harper drove her in with a single to center field to end the scoring.
In game two, TU got all its runs in the first inning. After Mengerink reached on an error and Miller singled, Head blasted a three-run HR to center field. Harper followed with a single and McPherson also reached with a double. With two outs, another error allowed one run to score. With the bases loaded, Mengerink drove in three runs with a triple as TU put Northwood in a 7-0 hole before the Timberwolves even came to bat.
