Dragons open conference play with 18-5 road win at Ursuline

Tiffin University women's lacrosse (5-3, 1-0 G-MAC) opened conference with play with a commanding 18-5 road win at Ursuline on Wednesday. 

Today's road game was just the second of the season for the Dragons.  

Katelyn Jarvis opened the scoring today and the Dragons scored three in the first six minutes as Lauren Walsh and Ella Malinowski also added goals.  

Tiffin never allowed Ursuline to get close and led 7-2 after one and 13-3 at halftime. Mallory Seymour scored to give the Dragons a 13-3 lead which prompted the running clock with 3:07 remaining in the first half.  

Ursuline scored 14 seconds into the second half to put a stop to the running clock but Tiffin put it back into effect 1:10 later on a goal by Caylin Kunze.  

Tiffin outscored the Arrows 5-2 in the second half.  

The Dragons, who had eight different goal scorers in their last game, had 10 different goal scorers today led by Kunze's four and Walsh's three. Jarvis, Guinevere Salas, and Lillian Graham scored two goals each. Walsh also had two assists. 

Kenna Wigginton, Jessa Zaheri, and Ashlee Flynn each scored one goal. All three goalkeepers saw playing time today. Paige Waldrup got the start, playing 15 minutes allowing two goals and recorded one save. Sadie Wermuth played 30 minutes and allowed two goals. Sarah Hart played 15 minutes allowing one goal and made two saves. 

Tiffin held a 15-8 advantage in ground balls and outshot Ursuline 37-12. The Dragons also won 18 of 27 draw controls.
