Four Tiffin University men's soccer players landed USC Midwest Region honors by vote of the USC coaches.
Earning First Team honors were goalkeeper
Nick Cherry and defender
Kristopher McDonald. Second Team laurels went to midfielders
Griffin Cook and
Zach Garcia.
McDonald, who was also a D2CCA All Region and First Team All G-MAC pick, led one of the best defensive lines in Tiffin's history, allowing just 9 goals all season. They totaled 13 shutouts, tying the single season TU record. The defense helped the team post a 0.44 GAA, as Tiffin has allowed only 52 total shots on goal for the season.Â
Cherry, a Second Team All G-MAC pick, has totaled a 0.44 GAA and .827 save percentage in the nets, as Tiffin has allowed only 52 total shots on goal for the season. Cherry ranks 3rd nationally in GAA while the team is 3rd in shutout percentage.
Garcia, also a D2CCA All Region selection and First Team All G-MAC pick, led the team with 8 assists, helping to guide the team to the regular season and tournament G-MAC championships and an NCAA regional berth.
Cook started all 20 games for Tiffin and finished with a goal and 2 assists.Â
