Dragons win on Senior Day 24-12

Tiffin University (6-3, 5-2 G-MAC) had a strong third quarter against Kentucky Wesleyan, scoring 14 points to eventually win 24-12 on Senior Day.

The Dragons got on the board first, scoring at the 3:58 mark when Tyrese Banks-Dorn exploded through the line for a 27-yard touchdown run to make it 7-0.

Those were the only first-half points for the Dragons, though, with the Panthers responding with an 84-yard drive in the second quarter and scoring on a 10-yard TD pass at the 4:33 mark. KWC missed the extra point, however, as Tiffin took a 7-6 lead into halftime.

After a three-and-out by the Dragons' defense to start the second half, TU got on the board with one play as Ronald Blackman burst through the line for a 60-yard score that made it 14-6 at the 12:56 mark of the third quarter.

Tiffin got more points on KWC's next possession, as Kris Artis blocked a punt and NIck Johnson took it into the end zone to make it 21-6.

Tiffin's defense started to assert itself at that point, as the Dragons registered a total of 7 sacks in the game along with two interceptions.

Tiffin's final points came early in the fourth quarter when Ben Rudolph hit a 24-yard field goal to make it 24-6.

Ethan Evers led the defense with 9 tackles and a sack, while DaVontez Lewis had 5 stops. Khris Walton totaled 2 sacks in the game, while Jokell Brown, Radical Rothermel, Kevin Hornbeak, and Anthony Shields also had sacks.

Braylon Gabes had an interception with a 31-yard return, while Isaiah Funches-Foster also had a pick.

Blackman led the offense with 138 rushing yards on just 10 carries while Banks-Dorn also had 46 yards rushing.
