Tiffin University (8-2-3, 7-1-2 G-MAC) had one of its strongest games of the year, blasting past Lake Erie 6-0.
A close 1-0 game at halftime was blown open with five second-half goals as Tiffin ran away with the victory. The Dragons opened scoring in the 29th minute when
Adrian Lechuga took a pass from
Zach Garcia and gave TU the halftime advantage.
Garcia got another assist in the 47th minute when he passed to
Callum Ellington, who drilled the shot home for a 2-0 edge.Â
Anelson Azard picked up another goal just three minutes later off a pass from
Sebastian Alvarez Cano as Tiffin expanded its lead.
Tiffin's final three goals were all scored within five minutes of each other.
Sam Brittain scored an unassisted goal in the 73rd minute, and
Noah Purtz knocked in a penalty kick goal in the 76th minute. Tiffin's final goal came in the 78th minute when Nazir Eloi scored off a dish from
Stephen Owusu.
Overall TU outshot Lake Erie 13-8, but 9 of those shots were on goal while the Tiffin defense held the Storm to just 2 total shots on goal.
Nick Cherry got the win in goal, making 2 saves over 90 minutes.
