Tiffin University (6-8, 1-5 G-MAC) could not keep up with Hillsdale on the road, as the Chargers used strong three-point shooting to win 92-53.
The Dragons fell behind early as Hillsdale opened with 55 percent shooting in the first quarter to take a 26-15 lead.Â
The trend continued in the second quarter, as the Chargers lit up the scoreboard from downtown while connecting on 8 of 15 treys in the half. The hot shooting led to a 24-15 second quarter edge as Tiffin fell behind 50-30 at halftime.
The Dragons were not able to get back in the game in the third quarter, as they went 1 for 8 from the floor (12 percent) and fell 19-8 in the quarter.
Hillsdale forced 18 TU turnovers leading to 19 points while also controlling the paint with a 42-29 rebounding advantage. The turnovers also gave the Chargers more field goal opportunities, as they had 74 attempts to Tiffin's 51.Â
The Dragons could not keep up from three-point, connecting on just 3 of 17 shots while Hillsdale finished with 53 percent shooting from three (15 of 28).
Isabelle Niederst led Tiffin off the bench with 12 points, while
Lyv Lindeman also had 9 points.
Megan Campbell added 7 points while
Grace Craig and
Bree Allen had 6 apiece.
