The Tiffin University women's soccer team (0-2) dropped a 4-1 decision to number three ranked Florida Tech Saturday evening down in Florida.
The defense held their own for the first 20 minutes, but the hosts were able to capitalize and scored four goals in a 17-minute span. Shortly after the fourth goal, lightning in the area forced the game into a delay and the delay lasted over an hour.
Play eventually resumed and just over two minutes into the second half, the Dragons netted their first goal of the season. Mackenzie Borden found the back of the net for the first time in her career and Suzy Hayes was credited with the assist.
The shot attempt was the only one of the game for the Dragons as the Panthers held a 23-1 advantage in the category.
Malea Nelson made four saves and was credited with the loss at goalkeeper in 73 minutes. Sam McPhee recorded two saves in 17 minutes of action.
The Dragons return to action for a Friday night game at Purdue Northwest.
