The Dragons (21-23, 15-14 G-MAC) were held to just two hits as they suffered a 10-0 defeat to league-leading Ashland to open the final series of the regular season.
It was a quick start for the Eagles as they plated four runs in the bottom of the first to take an early 4-0 lead. The runs came in bunches as later in the fourth, they added five more including a three-run home run to extend the lead to nine. A solo bomb in the sixth made it an even 10 for Ashland as it ended after seven innings on the run rule.
Tiffin's bats were kept quiet for the majority of the game with only two hits. The first was a triple by
Adam Deitschel in the third inning followed by a single from
Ty Hatfield in inning number six.
The four-game series continues with a doubleheader tomorrow, May 3 at 1 p.m.
