The Dragons (26-24) used a seven-run bottom of the fourth to lift themselves past the Timberwolves for the second time in the G-MAC tournament 9-2, advancing to the championship matchup.
Nick Feasel earned the nod on the bump for Tiffin and tossed a complete game in which he allowed just two runs on five hits in nine innings of work. He notched his third win of the season and added three strikeouts as well.
First baseman
Cal Brazier opened the scoring with a bang, going yard in the first inning with a solo shot to left field. A sacrifice fly from
Adam Deitschel the very next inning made it a 2-0 lead for the Dragons early on.
Inning number four is where TU broke the game open with seven runs which included three extra base hits. After Northwood walked home a run,
Jack Clancy delivered a two-RBI single to center field followed by a bases-clearing triple by
Ty Hatfield and a pair of doubles from both Brazier and
Logan Swonger.
Tiffin extended its lead to 9-0 and despite the Timberwolves tallying runs in the fifth and ninth innings, hung on for their fifth-straight victory.
Tommy Thamann ended 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored followed by Brazier who was 2-for-4 with two RBI's and two runs scored. Clancy and Hatfield both recorded a pair of RBI's on the day as well.
The Dragons now advance to the championship final where they will face Trevecca Nazarene for the first time this season. First pitch is set for noon tomorrow, May 11 at Prasco Park.
