The Dragons (13-17, 8-8 G-MAC) suffered back-to-back narrow defeats to Ohio Dominican in the middle two games of the series, 5-2 and 8-7.
Tiffin struck first in the third inning on an RBI-single by
Andrew Fairbrother but were undone by a four-run bottom of the fourth by ODU.
Ty Hatfield brought home the only other run of the game for the Dragons, a single to left field which brought home
Tommy Thamann.
Thamann ended game one 2-for-3 with a pair of singles while Fairbrother and Hatfield each tallied singles and an RBI each.
Scotty Adelman and
Zach Johnson split the game on the mound, each tossing three innings.
The Dragons trailed 5-4 heading into the sixth inning but tied the game up on a solo home run by
Jack Clancy in the top of the sixth. They took the lead the following inning on another long ball, this time a two-run shot from
Aidan Grabowski to lead 7-5.
The Panthers walked it off in the bottom of the seventh following a two-RBI double and an RBI-single to bring home the winning run.
The series will wrap up tomorrow with a single nine-inning game, first pitch is set for 1 p.m.
