Tiffin University's
Jules King tossed a perfect game and
Maddie Woods had a banner day at Lake Erie, totaling 8 RBI in the twinbill as TU won 7-3 and 14-0.
The Dragons finish the regular season with a 28-22 record, the most wins in five years. They also finished with a 14-12 G-MAC record, securing the 7th-seed in the G-MAC Tournament.
In game one, the Dragons trailed 1-0 heading to the sixth inning.
Ryan Wallace walked and stole second.
Lydia Kobie then singled and stole second. Woods drilled a home run for three runs and put Tiffin ahead 3-1.
In the seventh,
Baylee Mirgon singled. Pinch runner
Bailey Hamilton then stole second and
Alyssa Gettys walked. Wallace then singled to load the bases. With two outs, Woods drilled a grand slam to cap off the scoring and give her all 7 RBI in the game.
Claire Feldkamp got the win, allowing 5 hits and 3 earned runs in 7 innings with 7 strikeouts.
In game two, King allowed no hits and fanned 9 in five innings while the Dragons totaled 18 hits and 14 runs.
In a four-run first inning, Woods walked and
Reagan Mengerink singled.
Maci Head then doubled to drive in two runs.
Aubrie Harper then singled and Mirgon then singled to drive in another run. After Wallace walked to load the bases, Harper scored on Gettys's sacrifice fly.
In the second, Woods and Mengerink both singled and came home on Head's three-run bomb.
In the third inning, Kobie singled and stole second. A Woods triple brought another run home.
In the fourth, TU got two more solo shots, as
Tara Gall and Mirgon all went yard to make it 10-0.
Finally, in the fifth, Woods and Mengerink singled. Head's single drove in a run, and a Gall single got another run across the plate.
Iris Pierson singled for another run, as did Mirgon.
Mirgon had 4 hits for 3 RBI, Woods, Mengerink, and Head all had 3 hits, with Head driving in 6 runs, and Gall also had 2 hits for 2 RBI.
