Tiffin University (29-22) stunned #2-seed Hillsdale 3-0 in the opening round of the G-MAC Tournament, with
Jules King tossing a gem.
King fired a 3-hit shutout, fanning 12 over 7 innings with just 2 walks.Â
King and Hillsdale's Joni Russell had a tight pitcher's duel into the fifth inning when the Dragons broke through.
Baylee Mirgon singled to lead off the inning. With two out
Lydia Kobie cranked a double in the leftcenter gap to plate the first run of the game.
King continued to dominate and the Dragons added two more runs in the seventh. Mirgon led off a bomb to left field and with two outs Kobie struck again, blasting a home run to the same spot in left to make it 3-0 and put the game away.
Overall the Dragons had 7 hits with Mirgon and Kobie getting four of them.Â
Tiffin will now face Cedarville at 12:30 pm May 2, as the Yellow Jackets also upset Ohio Dominican 3-0.
