Tiffin University (26-22, 12-12 G-MAC) swept Ursuline 10-0 and 4-2 on the road as the Dragons continue to battle for a spot in the G-MAC Tournament.
Tiffin had little trouble scoring runs in the first game, banging out 14 hits in six innings. They put the game away with 7 runs over the fifth and sixth innings.
Jules King also dominated on the mound, allowing just one hit with 11 strikeouts over 5 innings with no walks.
TU opened up with two runs in the first inning.
Maddie Woods walked and
Reagan Mengerink followed with a single.
Maci Head then singled home a run, and
Molly Koesters also hit a single to center field for another run.
Another run scored in the third. Woods singled and moved to third on an error. She then scored on a wild pitch.
In the fifth inning, Mengerink singled. Pinch runner
Bailey Hamilton then stole second. After an
Aubrie Harper single, Koesters doubled for 2 RBI.
Alyssa Gettys then singled to drive in another run as TU took a 6-0 lead.
In the sixth,
Lydia Kobie was hit by a pitch and Woods singled. Mengerink then doubled for 2 RBI. With two outs, Koesters drilled a two-run home run for TU's final runs.
The second game was much closer. Ursuline led 2-0 heading to the top of the fourth inning. Koesters smacked a solo home run. Harper then singled and pinch runner
Maya Miles then stole second.
Baylee Mirgon then walked and both runners were then sacrificed up a base.
Ryan Wallaced followed with a big double for 2 RBI as TU jumped ahead 3-2.Â
TU got another run in the sixth inning when Koesters drilled her third home run of the day.
Claire Feldkamp got the win, allowing just 5 hits over 4 innings with 5 strikeouts. King came in for the final 3 innings to get the save, allowing 3 hits.Â
