Dragons sweep Panthers to close southern trip

Tiffin University (24-22, 10-12 G-MAC) won both games at Kentucky Wesleyan, sweeping the games 5-1 and 6-1.

Jules King got the win in game one, allowing just 2 hits and 1 earned run with 7 innings of work. She also fanned 11 and walked none.

The Dragons scored 3 runs to open the game. Maddie Woods walked and Maci Head followed with a single with two outs. Aubrie Harper then drilled a home run to left field to give TU the early lead.

TU scored single runs in the third and fourth. Reagan Mengerink doubled and came home when Harper again came through with a two-out RBI single.

In the fourth inning, Tara Gall walked and pinchrunner Maya Miles stole second and advanced to third on a sacrifice. Woods then singled to left field to make it 5-0.

In game two, Claire Feldkamp also tossed a gem, allowing one earned run on 6 hits over 7 innings with 6 strikeouts.

TU scored all its runs in the third and fifth inning. With two outs, Woods singled and stole second. Baylee Mirgon then singled and advanced to third on an error while Woods scored. Mengerink then blasted a two-run home run to put TU ahead 3-0.

In the fifth inning, Mengerink singled and pinchrunner Bailey Hamilton stole second. With two outs, Harper drove in the run with a single. Molly Koesters then doubled for another run. Alyssa Gettys, Gall, and Lydia Kobie all followed with singles, with Kobie getting an RBI.
