The Dragons (17-20, 12-11 G-MAC) used a stunning seventh-inning rally to take game one over the Storm 8-4 before falling 4-0 in game two to close out the series.
Lake Erie got going early with a three-run bottom of the first and added another the following inning to take a 4-0 lead into inning number three. Tiffin began chipping away at the deficit with a two-RBI double from
Logan Swonger in the third followed by a solo home run to straightaway center field by
Cal Brazier to pull back within one.
It wasn't until the top of the seventh that the Dragons caught fire and rallied together five runs which included a pair of RBI-singles by
Andrew Fairbrother and
Ricky Havrilla as well as a sacrifice fly from
Aidan Grabowski, making it an 8-4 game.
Trent Hedges earned his first win of the season on the mound, tossing two scoreless innings in which he struck out three of the eight batters he faced.
The Dragons were shut out in game two despite tallying six hits, they left 14 on base throughout the game. Lake Erie scored once in each of the second and third innings before adding two more insurance runs in the bottom half of the seventh.
Tiffin will now return home for a five-game homestand, beginning with a single nine-inning game against Findlay on Wednesday, April 17, followed by a four-game series against Walsh.
