The Dragons (17-21, 12-11 G-MAC) struggled to get the bats going in what ended as a 6-1 defeat to Slippery Rock in their final non-conference contest of the regular season.
Â
Tiffin was held to just four base hits in total for the game and mustered just one run which came late in the final inning of the game.
Â
Slippery Rock scored a pair of runs in the second inning and later added three more in the fourth to take a firm 5-0 lead. It added one more in the seventh with TU recording its only run of the game in the top of the ninth thanks to a double by
Cal Brazier which brought home
Tommy Thamann.
Â
Brazier and Thamann accounted for all four hits for the Dragons, each with two and each with a double as well. Thamann ended 2-for-3 with a run scored while Brazier finished 2-for-4 with the only RBI of the game.
Â
Tiffin used a plethora of arms as eight pitchers took to the mound, most of which threw just a single inning.
Brandon Swope tossed the final inning, delivering a one-two-three inning in which he struck out all three batters he faced.
Â
The Dragons now return home for their final matchup with Findlay on Wednesday, April 17 at 2 p.m. before kicking off their final home series against Walsh.
