The Dragons (2-8) led for the majority of their road contest against the Golden Flashes before a ninth-inning collapse saw them suffer defeat 11-7.
Kent State got on the board early with a lone run in the bottom of the first. The next half inning saw
Logan Swonger help give the Dragons the lead with a two-run homer over the right field wall. KSU tied things up with another run before Tiffin added two more to regain the lead on a sacrifice fly by
Adam Deitschel and an RBI-double by Swonger.
TU later extended their lead to four runs in the fifth inning, scoring three runs thanks to yet another RBI from Swonger followed by a single up the middle by
Hilario DeLaPaz which brought home two more.
The Dragons held a 7-5 lead entering the bottom of the ninth, but unfortunately walked home two runs to tie it up before a walk-off grand slam sealed defeat for Tiffin.
Swonger finished 2-for-5 with two extra base hits, a home run and a double and posted a team-highs in RBI's with four and runs scored with two.
Isaiah Mirabal ended 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored while
Aidan Grabowski and Deitschel both went 2-for-4 with multi-hit games as well.
Tiffin threw a combination of 10 pitchers with the majority tossing at least an inning.
Ben Hubert earned the start while
Andrew Fairbrother was the last on the rubber, earning his first loss on the year.
The Dragons will now head back to West Virginia for a four-game series against Gannon University before heading into Great Midwest Athletic Conference action.
