Dragons Drop Back-to-Back to Hillsdale

The Dragons (9-12, 4-3 G-MAC) drop middle two of road-series with Hillsdale 8-3 and 5-4 in extra innings on Saturday.

Tiffin rotated a total of seven pitchers in game one, starting with Noah Kandel on the mound. The Chargers got going early, scoring seven of their eight runs in the first three innings.

Connor Huzicka brought home the first run of the game for the Dragons on a fielder's choice in the top of the second. Two more runs crossed the plate on Logan Swonger's double down the right field line in the fifth inning.

Five different Dragons recorded a hit including a pair of doubles from Swonger and Isaiah Mirabal.

The Dragons got off to a stronger start in game two, posting three runs in the top of the first on a bases-clearing double by Cal Brazier. Tiffin held the lead until the fourth inning when the Chargers cut the lead to just one.

Hillsdale later tied the game at 3-3 with a run in the sixth inning, forcing the team into extras. Ty Hatfield brought home the go-ahead run in the top of the eighth with an RBI-single, however, the Chargers walked it off in the bottom half with two runs to end the game.

Nick Feasel started off well in his first start of the year, allowing two runs on just one hit with two strikeouts in three innings of work.

Jack Clancy ended 2-for-3 with a double and a runs scored while Swonger was the only other Dragon with two hits, going 2-for-4. Brazier finished 1-for-2 with a team-high three RBI's.

The series concludes tomorrow, March 24 as Tiffin looks to make it a series split with a victory.
