Tiffin University (12-12) staged a late comeback in the opener with Saginaw Valley State, as the Dragons managed a split with the Cardinals.
Tiffin won the opener 4-3 while dropping the nightcap 9-2.
In the win, Tiffin trailed 2-0 in the fourth inning before tying the game. With two outs,
Baylee Mirgon reached on an error at third base.
Aubrie Harper then singled to put runners on first and third. The Dragons then executed a double steal with Harper going to second and Mirgon stealing home.
Tara Gall then singled Harper home to tie the score 2-2.
After the Cardinals took the lead 3-2 in the fifth inning, Tiffin came back in the bottom of the sixth to take the lead for good.
Reagan Mengerink singled and Mirgon followed with another single. Harper then singled home a run to tie the score, and Gall followed with another RBI single to put TU ahead 4-3.
That left three outs remaining for starter
Claire Feldkamp to get. After a leadoff single, Feldkamp pitched out of the jam with a fielder's choice, a flyout to right field, and a swinging strikeout for the win.
Feldkamp went 7 innings and allowed 3 earned runs with 5 strikeouts and 6 walks to improve to 6-5 on the season.
Harper had 3 hits while Gall and Mirgon had 2 apiece.
In game two, the Dragons scored in the first inning but could get nothing going the rest of the way.
After
Maddie Woods walked and advanced to second on a grounder, Mengerink singled her home to make it 1-0.
Maci Head then laced a triple down the right field line to put TU ahead 2-0.

Jules King struggled in the second inning, with the Cardinals getting four runs in the second. King's day ended after two innings, with
Lexi Key pitching the rest of the way. The Cardinals tallied three more runs in the third inning.Â
The Dragons' offense managed just 5 total hits in the game and could only put 4 more runners in scoring position after the first inning.Â
King took the loss, allowing 6 earned runs over 2 innings. Key pitched 5 innings and allowed 2 earned runs.
Other than Head's triple, Tiffin's other four hits were all singles.
