The Dragons (16-11, 10-9 G-MAC) hosted Malone University for their final home game of the season, earning the 76-68 victory over the Pioneers behind the standout performances of
Wesley Jordan and
Morgan Taylor.
Tiffin earned its 16th win of the season, the most in a single season for the Dragons since the 1998-99 season and still with a game to go.
It was a back and forth start to the game, tied 7-7 after the opening four minutes of play. Then, an 8-0 run by Malone over the next three minutes earned it a 15-7 lead. The Pioneers went on to lead by as many as 10 points before a 7-0 run to close out the half by the Dragons made it a three-point game at the break.
TU took just two minutes to regain the lead after trailing for the majority of the first quarter. Malone kept it close and even came within one points with just under 10 minutes to go. However, the Pioneers went cold as Tiffin capitalized with a 16-3 run which MU was unable to recover from.
Jordan led the team in both points with 27 and rebounds with eight while Taylor added 20 points, six rebounds and a team-high five assists in 40 minutes played.
Joshua Rivers contributed 12 points, playing well at both ends of the floor as he added two blocks and two steals.
Ian Lopez finished with seven points and
Brandon Swaby tallied six points and five rebounds.
The Dragons will now head to Lake Erie to face the Storm for the second time this season in what will be their regular-season finale.
