Dragons get split on day two of Blue Bridge Battle

Tiffin University (6-3) got a win against Drury before falling in a close game to Notre Dame on day two at the Blue Bridge Battle in Evansville, Indiana.

The Dragons defeated Drury 4-1 in their opener, with Claire Feldkamp getting the win and Jules King getting her second save of the season.

Feldkamp pitched 4 innings and allowed just 2 hits and one earned run with 2 strikeouts and 3 walks. King came on to toss the final three innings, allowing just one hit and fanning four.

King and Reagan Mengerink each had two hits to lead the offense, with King getting a double.

Tiffin got three runs in the third inning. King led off with a double and came home on Mengerink's single. An error in center field allowed Mengerink to also score. Molly Koesters reached on a fielder's choice, and advanced after another Drury error, a walk, and a fielder's choice for Tiffin's third run.

Ahead 3-1, Tiffin got an insurance run in the sixth inning. Aubrie Harper singled and moved to second on an error in left field. Two groundouts then brought Harper home for Tiffin's final run.

In the nightcap, Tiffin fell 3-0 to Notre Dame, allowing single runs in the first, third, and fourth innings.

Isabella St. Peter took the loss, lasting 3 innings and allowing 6 hits and 2 earned runs. Lexi Key also threw 2.1 innings, allowing one earned run, while King finished the final two-thirds of an inning.

Maci Head had 2 hits with a double as the Dragons managed just 5 hits overall.
