The Dragons (15-11, 9-9 G-MAC) hosted Lake Erie College to face the Storm for the first time this season, falling just short in a 67-64 defeat.
Tiffin got off to a slow start after being held scoreless for the opening four minutes as Lake Erie opened with an 11-0 run. The Storm held that 11-point advantage over the majority of the first half before the Dragons cut the lead to six on a layup from
Joshua Rivers just before the halftime buzzer.
TU slowly battled its way back into the game in the second half, eventually getting the game-tying basket through
Rhaven Brown with 13 and a half minutes remaining.
The Dragons earned their largest lead of the game at 47-44 with just under 10 minutes to go. The back and forth battle continued with Tiffin later tying it back up at 57 on a three-pointer from
Ian Lopez. However, Lake Erie once again regained the lead and were able to hold off the Dragons over the remaining few minutes.
Rivers led the team with 18 points on 53.8 percent shooting from the floor and added five rebounds, three assists, and two steals. He was followed by Lopez with 15 points on 33.3 percent shooting from deep with four rebounds and a team-high two blocks.
Wesley Jordan contributed 12 points and six rebounds while
KJ Pruitt ended with a team-high seven boards and added six points as well.
The Dragons will now host Malone on Thursday, February 29 at 5:30 p.m. before traveling to Lake Erie for a rematch to end the season.
