Dragons Knock Off Northwood for Back to Back Wins

Tiffin University (15-8, 9-6 G-MAC) men's basketball played host to the Northwood Timberwolves on Thursday night, earning an 83-65 victory to complete the season sweep.

The Dragons were on fire offensively, shooting 58.9 percent from the field in total including 60.6 in the second half. TU dominated down low as 56 of its 83 points came in the paint.

Tiffin got of to a little bit of a slow start as the Timberwolves opened up with a 7-2 run. The Dragons battled back and eventually took a four-point lead into the break after a competitive first half.

The second half was all TU, however, as it extended its lead out to 10 points through the first five minutes. Working well in transition and making quick cuts to the basket, the Dragons went on to lead by as many as 22 points to help seal the win to make it back to back victories in conference play.

Wesley Jordan once again led the team in points with 21 on 72.7 percent shooting, adding nine rebounds and three blocks to his credit. Jordan has now scored 20-plus points in each of his last five games. He was followed by Ian Lopez with 19 points and three steals, tying his season-high for made field goals with eight.

Leading the team in assists was KJ Pruitt with a season-high seven, he added four rebounds and two points as well. Joshua Rivers came off the bench to contribute 12 points, four rebounds, and three assists.

The Dragons have a quick turnaround as they now head to Nashville, Tennessee where they will look to complete yet another season sweep against Trevecca Nazarene on Saturday, February 17 at 4 p.m.
