Tiffin University (5-4 1-2 G-MAC) picked up its first conference victory behind hot shooting, beating Cedarville 77-64.
Tiffin exploded out of the gate, shooting 71 percent in the opening quarter while holding Cedarville to 20 percent in building a 25-11 first quarter advantage. Though Tiffin cooled off in the second quarter, it still won the quarter 16-13 and took a 41-24 lead into halftime.
Tiffin used strong three-point shooting to continue to expand its lead, shooting 52 percent (11-for-21) from three to push its lead to 21 points near the end of the third quarter.Â
Cedarville took advantage of 28 TU turnovers and strong rebounding (48-34 edge) to make a number of runs at Tiffin during the final quarter, but Tiffin shot 11-for-20 in the second half to preserve the lead.
The Dragons also held a big 18-4 edge at the free throw line, while also connecting on 81 percent of their free throws (18-for-22).Â
Lyv Lindeman had a big night, going 6-for-6 from the floor and 8-for-8 from the line for 23 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists, while
Megan Campbell also had a strong game with 18 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists.
Grace Craig also reached double digits with 12 points and 9 rebounds, while
Bree Allen had 11 points.
