Box Score Tiffin University (6-4) fell behind big early but turned it around with a strong final three quarters, beating West Liberty 79-67.
Tiffin shot just 21 percent in the opening quarter, as the Hilltoppers pulled away late in the first quarter to take a 19-10 advantage. They eventually led by 16 points at the 5:53 mark of the second quarter, but the Dragons rallied midway through to pull to within 36-31 at hafltime.
Tiffin turned up the offense in the third quarter, shooting 62 percent to hold off West Liberty 24-21 in the quarter and trail by just two points 57-55 entering the final quarter.
The Dragons continued aggressive play in the paint, drawing numerous three-point plays inside leading to a 19-8 edge at the free throw line. Tiffin made the most of its trips to the charity stripe, hitting 19 of 21 shots. The free throw edge led to a huge 24-10 scoring margin in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.
The inside dominance showed up in a 54-36 scoring margin in the paint, while Tiffin's bench also played a big role with a 40-13 scoring advantage.
Tiffin also took advantage of 19 Hilltoppers' turnovers, scoring 32 points. TU also turned the ball over only 14 times.
Isabelle Niederst had a huge game off the bench, totaling 18 points, while
Lyv Lindeman also had 16 points with 8 rebounds.
Presley Feltner was also a powerful bench presence, scoring 16 points with 6 rebounds, while
Grace Craig had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds along with 4 blocks.
Megan Campbell had 6 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists.
