Tiffin pulls out overtime win over Slippery Rock 78-75

Tiffin University (4-2) battled back from a second-half deficit to beat Slippery Rock in overtime 78-75.

Strong shooting from the Rock in the second quarter gave them a 36-29 halftime edge, and the Dragons continued to trail by 7 points entering the fourth quarter.

The Dragons opened the final quarter with a 7-0 run that tied the score 56-56 at the 6:58 mark.

The Rock bounced back with their own 9-1 run that gave them an 8 point lead with 4:27 to play.

The Dragons refused to give up, using a strong inside game to shoot 56 percent from the floor while the Rock fell off to a 21 percent field goal mark in the final quarter. TU posted a 12-2 run that put them up two points with 32 seconds left.

After the Rock hit a three-pointer with 12 ticks left, Lyv Lindeman drew the foul on a fastbreak and hit the second of two free throws to tie the game at 70-70 and send it to overtime.

The Dragons held a slight lead throughout the overtime period but still found the game tied at 75-75 with 52 seconds left. A missed shot in the paint by Megan Campbell was rebounded by Presley Feltner, who drew the foul. She also hit the second of two free throws to give TU a 76-75 lead wth 5 seconds left.

A turnover by Slippery Rock gave TU the ball back, with Lindeman hitting a couple more free throws to seal the victory.

Overall TU shot 44 percent in the game, outpacing the Rock's 33 percent. They also held a 34-16 edge in the paint and got 21 points off turnovers.

Lindeman totaled 19 points with 8 rebounds and 4 assists, while Campbell had 18 points and 5 rebounds. Riley Irwin also reached double figures with 14 points. Grace Craig finished with 8 points and 10 rebounds, and Isabelle Niederst also had 5 rebounds and 4 assists.
