Tiffin University (3-2) could not overcome poor field goal shooting, falling to Wayne State on the road 72-48.
Tiffin managed just 25 percent shooting while the Warriors hit at a 42 percent clip. The Warriors also excelled in the paint, outscoring Tiffin 38-20 inside. Besides the scoring edge, the Warriors held a commanding 47-30 rebounding edge.
Wayne State opened strong, outscoring the Dragons 20-8 in the first quarter, getting 26 total shot attempts to Tiffin's 12. After an 18-14 second quarter margin, the Warriors carried a 38-22 lead into the halftime break.
The Dragons shot just 5-for-25 (20 percent) from the floor in the second half, with Wayne State scoring 21 points off of 19 Tiffin turnovers.Â
