Tiffin University (3-1) led from start to finish, using a double-double performance from
Grace Craig and a solid bench contribution to defeat Lake Superior State 49-35.
The Dragons opened the game with a 10-0 run to set the tone. They ultimately won the first quarter 15-9 and held off some runs by the Lakers in the second quarter to take a 26-17 lead into halftime.
The Dragons pushed their lead to its largest margin at 14 points early in the third quarter. The Lakers bounced back, though playing their strongest quarter to outscore TU 11-7 and cut the lead to 5 points by the end of the quarter.
Tiffin answered with its strongest quarter, shooting 66 percent from the floor to outpace the Lakers 16-7 and put the game away.
Craig had a strong night, totaling 14 points with 10 rebounds while going a perfect 7-for-7 from the floor.
Lyv Lindeman had 7 points with 6 rebounds while
Tomi Hinkle,
Bree Allen, and
Riley Irwin had 6 points each.
Megan Campbell also posted 8 rebounds.
Tiffin also enjoyed a 30-16 edge in the paint and a 20-8 advantage from the bench.
